Banihal deputation calls on CM

Jammu: A deputation from Banihal called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today and presented to him a memorandum listing demands and development needs.
The deputation led by Congress leader from Banihal Sajjad Shaheen urged the Chief Minister for setting up of a degree college at Banihal, according district status to Ramban, sub-divisional status to Banihal and creating tehsil at Ramsoo.
Other demands projected by the deputation included upgradation of emergency hospital at Banihal with provision of specialized healthcare for accident victims, opening of industrial training institutes at Banihal and Ukhral, setting up of mini-hydel projects at Nachilana and Pogal Gud and constituting tourism development authority for Banihal.
They also demanded developing Banihal as a model town, upgrading various health and educational institutions besides augmenting drinking water supply in the area and providing employment to local youth at Sawalakote hydel project. (INF)
