PL pays tributes
Srinagar, Feb 16: The leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (PL) Thursday paid tributes to Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad Balla on his 31st martyrdom anniversary. The meeting of PL was convened at its Rajbagh office chaired by Vice-chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Sofi.
While paying tributes to Shaheed Balla, the leaders highlighted his achievements for the freedom movement.
“PL will take the mission of Shaheed Balla to its logical conclusion. Shaheed Balla’s martyrdom was the first sacrifice of PL and it gave impetus to the freedom movement,” a statement of PL here read.
PL also paid tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, Shaheed S Hameed, Shaheed Khalil-u-Rehman and thousands of other martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom movement.
On the occasion, the League also announced that it will soon organize a ‘historical seminar’ for which the preparations are going on and public contact programme would be widened.
At the end of the meeting, the League paid tributes to its jailed chairman Sheikh Abdul Aziz on completing one year in jail.
