Govt for promoting micro-irrigation methods

Ahmedabad, Aug 16: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has launched statewide campaign for promoting micro-irrigation techniques and agriculture awareness drive to benefit the state farmers. Modi had flagged off three mobile vans, which would cover every corner of the state to motivate farmers to adopt drip irrigation techniques. During the function he said '' the main aim to these mobile van service is to educate the farmers about the benefits of drip irrigation, out of the three Mobile Vans, one van would be exclusively allocated to Narmada district.'' Experts, scholars and officials are to accompany the mobile vans to provide guidance to the farmers. Public appeal has been issued for the farmers to take maximum advantage of mobile van facility, he added. Under the Vanbandhu welfare package, the Chief Minister inaugurated various development works at Narmada district yesterday.
