Laigardoori, Marjanpora sans streetlights
MUHARRAM ARRANGEMENTS
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Dec 13: The residents of Laigardoori, Eidgah and Marjanpora, Nawakadal have appealed the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to install streetlights at an earliest in the wake of upcoming Muharram.
A delegation from Laigardoori in Shahr-e-Khaas said there were no streetlights in the area.
“We have to offer congregational prayers at night during Muharram so movement could be inconvenient if the streetlights aren’t installed,” the locals said.
The residents of Marjanpora said due to absence of streetlights, many mishaps have occurred in the narrow lanes there.
The residents said the lanes haven’t been repaired for the past many years.
“There’s always a chance to slip on the uneven walkway particularly at nights,” they said.
“It’s the right time to install the streetlights,” they added.
