Devotees seek uninterrupted power supply in City
Khidmatgaar committee appeals Mayor
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Dec 18: While the devotees have sought uninterrupted power supply during Muharram, the Imam-e-Zain-ul-Abideen Khidmatgaar Committee of Khanqah-e-Sokhta, Nawakadal on Friday appealed the City Mayor, Salman Ali Sagar to install streetlights in the area.
The committee said the devotees observe Muharram related activities particularly the Shabh at the shrine of Syed Muhammad Mosvi (RA) there.
But presently, the residents said, like elsewhere, there was lighting arrangement at the local shrine.
“It’s high time for the Mayor to get streetlights installed in the area particularly at the shrine for public convenience,” the committee said.
The locals said rather than making his visit a “symbolic exercise to promise Muharram arrangements”, the Mayor should visit the area only to see the lights installed.
Moreover, the locals said, the lights would be of no use if installed after Muharram.
Besides, the locals, appealed Srinagar Municipal Corporation to launch a special sanitation drive to ensure better sanitation in the area.
