Govt to accelerate dev works: Sagar

Srinagar, Dec 18: The minister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Sagar today said the government was keen to accelerate developmental process in the state.
“The development process has been initiated for the betterment of the people and laxity from any quarter will not be tolerated,” Sagar said while addressing a public gathering in Rajouri.
He said it was the endeavor of the coalition to push forward the agenda of peace and prosperity in the State, adding the timely completion of projects meant for the welfare of people was being strictly enforced.
Referring to the recent peace initiatives, Sagar said, “We fully support the Prime Minister’s initiative and are hopeful that this vexed issue would be solved in near future”.
Responding to the local demands, Sagar said the Shadra Sharief, would be developed as a Model Village at a cost of Rs 6 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister of State for Rural Development, Aijaz Ahmad Khan highlighted the government’s role in ushering an era of peace, prosperity in the State.
The Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan said the Government was working round the clock to provide basic amenities to people.
Sagar later distributed cheques among four Self-Help Groups of Rajouri and announced that an amount of Rs. 37 lakh has been earmarked for the district under SGSY to provide assistance to various Self-Help Groups.
