Jammu, Dec 18: The Aksh Optifibre, the pioneer of IPTV service in India, announced its plans to strengthen operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
With a 30,000 countrywide subscriber base, the Aksh Optifibre’s IPTV service – iControl that allows the subscribers to see TV programmes at their convenience expands its partner ecosystem by bringing onboard channel partners. iControl is associated with BSNL in Jammu for providing its IPTV service.
At a press conference here, Managing Director Aksh Optiflbre Dr KS Choudhari said the company’s philosophy is to provide ubiquitous technology at affordable prices.
“iControl reflects the same philosophy. Through this association with DSAs we have taken yet another step towards making iControl a household name. Aksh Optifibre believes in expanding mediums of entertainment and education through our cutting edge technology of IPTV service,” Dr Choudhari said.
He said that with this technology the viewer would have a complete control of television with 125 plus channels and competitive Price.
“1499 refundable deposit and package price 199/249 with Video on Demand and 600+ videos ranging from Bollywood, Hollywood and Regional Videos in which 35 per cent almost free of charge and regular updation on the movie collection are the main attractions,” he said.
“Chill and Cool are the two unique features of iControl which allows subscribers to watch missed programme of past seven days as per convenience and rewind, pause and fast forward Live Channels,” Managing Director said.
Some additional features, he said, would be the send and receive instant messages form other icontrol IPTV users with personalized address book interactive games, Atube which is a pull format of video classifieds bringing options for the low budget advertisers, i-mall which is a shopping platform, etc.
President Corporate Initiatives Lt Gen (Rtd) V Dhir, while highlighting company’s achievements said, “Currently, the service is available in Delhi, Mumbai and cities of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and now in Jammu and Kashmir”.
He said that in total it is available in 22 cities and the company is planning to increase icontrol’s subscriber base. “For the same we have also come up with an Aggressive Advertising Campaign,” he said.
He said that Aksh’s icontrol (IPTV Service) is an interactive and economical entertainment medium, unlike other televiewing services. “With iControl, consumers experience the power of interactivity and complete control over television as per their convenience. The “i” in icontrol stands for the interactivity factor currently non-existent in tele-viewing offered by other service providers like DTH or CAS,” he said.
Talking about the Aksh Optifibre, Dhir said it is a public listed company, which is the F Company to launch IPTV services in India with the largest subscriber base and is already providing IPTV and VOIP services in Delhi and Mumbai, under an agreement with MTNL.
“Through the recent venture with BSNL the company plans to roll out and commence its IPTV services to twenty more cities in North India,” he said.
