Air ambulance for emergencies likely: Sham Lal

Jammu: The government is contemplating air ambulances to ferry emergencies, including those of road mishaps and natural calamities, the Health Minister, Sham Lal, said after inaugurating an extension counter of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank and a 10-bed ward at the hospital at Jourian today, adding the final decision would be taken soon.
He said special funds had been provided for every district hospital to augment equipment and other facilities. The government has added 125 ambulances to its fleet and acquired another 25 Critical Care Ambulances for deployment in district hospitals. Ambulances will also be kept available along the highway after every 25 km for accident cases.
