BSNL disconnects SHRC phone

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Dec 18: The State Human Rights Commission got taste of the “inefficient services” of the BSNL as its landline at main office Buchwara in the City is out of service for the past 10 days.
The SHRC officials said the Commission’s landline 2500246 was not restored despite many complaints. “This number is registered with NHRC, Home ministry and international human rights groups. Our fax is also connected with it and people from far off places file complaints or know status of their cases. Due to BSNL mismanagement, our working has been severally affected,” said Farooq Ahmad, private secretary to SHRC chairperson.
“I had even filed a complaint (no 3AL05077) with the BSN. But in vain,” he said. “If this happens with the Commission, we can well imagine the fate of common people at the hands of BSNL,” he added.
The BSNL officials, however, couldn’t be contacted for comment.
