Slow work on drainage irks Green Avenue

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Dec 19: The residents of Green Avenue Sector 1, Hyderpora  said they face inconvenience due to “slow  work” on drain being constructed in the area.
In a statement, the locals led by Ghulam Mohi Din Sheikh, accused ERA, the project executing agency of taking them hostage.
“ERA has held us hostage. The construction of drain in our lane was started way back in April 2007 but is yet to be completed,” the locals said.
“We have been put to lot of agony as the work is going on at snail’s pace and all this has made our colony an inconvenient place to live in,” they added.
Mohi-ud-Din said the inconvenience to move around had affected their social relations as well.
“No relative dares to visit us. We also avoid to move out from our homes and some times have to do without essential items,” he added.
The residents appealed the local MLA, Nasir Sogami to look into the matter.
