Education system: Has it lost the sheen?
Education humanizes us. It illuminates our mind and soul. It designs all the important aspects of human personality. As we witness drastic strides have been made across the globe in the recent past, it is because of education. In the earlier times only few had the opportunity to acquire education. Teacher was the sole proprietor of knowledge. He was infect called 'moving librarian ‘and 'social engineer'. He was regarded as the most dignified personality of the society. In those days only one or two middle schools would exist in a district. Education was not door to door. People had strong ethical, social and religious aspect and lived in harmony with the nature. Now the situation is reverse. If we talk of education system of modern era, it has lost its sheen. It is in complete shambles. In this mechanized world, education is getting commercialized. This certainly is not the spirit of education. Now teachers are not respected. Some black-sheep spoil the image of an entire teacher community. Where does the fault lie? Nowadays huge sum of money is being spent by the government on education sector to bring it back on rails but it should be completely revived. Moral, ethical and religious education should be given prime importance. Derailed education system can be brought back to rails provided we are committed to do that.
