Wazibagh complains of walerlogging
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 13: The residents of Qazi Bagh, Rawalpora have complained of waterlogging allegedly due to drainage failure in the area.
A delegation the locals said: “We have been facing tremendous problem of waterlogging over the years, particularly since a drain constructed by a civic body got chocked due to encroachments.”
“We were hopeful that the ERA comes to our rescue as our area is included in its project. But unfortunately the agency has yet to start work there,” the delegation added.
They appealed the ERA officials to visit the area for an on-the-spot assessment and see “how we get trapped in knee-deep waters because of recent incessant rains.”
The residents appealed the ERA authorities to look into the matter at an earliest.
“Besides all this, our houses are damaged and our movement has been hazardous in these unhygienic conditions,” said a local Dr Mohsin Abdullah.
