Central Jail Srinagar gets computer lab

Srinagar, Dec 22: The Director General Prisons, Ashok Bhan on Tuesday inaugurated a computer lab at Central Jail Srinagar  where “20 educated prisoners involved in different crimes” would be imparted training in computer education thorough prestigious DOEACC, free of cost an official handout said.
 “In order to establish new district jails and to modernize the existing jails, a comprehensive plan of Rs. 80 crore is under the active consideration of the government and is expected to be approved soon,” it quoted Bhan  as having said.
 Bhan said such programes had already been started in Jammu and Kuthua jails.
  He said the purpose of these programmes was to impart the educated youth in the jails training regarding computers as various other craft training was also being imparted to them already.
 He also inspected transformer manufacturing and tailoring center in the jail.
 The DGP was accompanied by the DIG Prisons, Dr Muhammad Sultan , Director DOEACC, Srinagar,  AH Moon and SP Central  Muhammad Ayoub.
