LFO AHD organizes awareness camp

Srinagar, Dec 24: Liver Fluke Organization of Animal Husbandry Department organized an awareness camp, at Cheerwan village in Kangan block of District Ganderbal on December 19.
On the occasion, the experts made the livestock owners aware about different aspects of animal health and various zoonotic and infectious diseases. They also educated livestock owners about preventive and control measures to be followed to check the diseases. “However, special emphasis was given to Rinderpest disease which already stands eradicated, but needs surveillance as a part of post eradication vigil programme under National Project on Rinderpest Eradication,” said the Liver Fluke cum Rinderpest control officer, animal husbandry department, Kashmir, in an official handout today.
A large number of people participated in the said camp. The experts who spoke on the occasion included Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal, BVO, Kangan, T.O. LFRCO, Sgr, VAS Budgam.
Free tonic and free literature was distributed among the participants as an incentive under NPRE. Similar camp was conducted at Sopur on December 8.
