Srinagar, Dec 25: Senior Vice-Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R), Javaid Ahmad Mir Thursday asked people to continue the freedom struggle till its logical conclusion.
He said Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar reminds us of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) for justice and we should take cue from it.
“We are in the midst of freedom struggle and shall follow the footsteps of Shuhda-e-Karbala to carry forward our freedom struggle. We shall be ready for any kind of sacrifice like the martyrs of Karbala,” a statement quoting his address to devotees at Nowgam Sumbal.
He said Kashmiris should show patience and remain determined on the path of freedom. “We need to show the international committee that we are committed to the cause.” Mir threw light on the religious significance of Muharram.
Several other party activists including Shafat Jan Shangloo, Haroon Kashmiri, Rafiq Ahmad Bhat, Ajaz Ahmad Mir, and Muhammad Maqbool Madni also accompanied him.
