Troops put on alert along LoC: GoC

Akhnoor (Jammu), Dec 27: A senior army official today said that troops were on alert along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir to foil any attempt at infiltration by militants.
“Troops have been put on the alert along the LoC to foil infiltration from across the border. We will not allow them to succeed,” General Officer Commanding (GOC) 10 Infantry Division, Major General K Majumdar told reporters soon after inaugurating an exhibition on “Know Your Army” at Kendriya Vidyalaya premises at Akhnoor, 40 km from here today.
Gen Majumdar said the troops were guarding the LoC round-the-clock and keep a close vigilance.
The GoC said that till now troops in this sector have not allowed any infiltration bid.
To a question about the staging posts of militants along the LoC, he said there were such reports but the army would foil any attempt at infiltration.
