Clean chit

The clean chit given to the police officials by the CBI in Shopian rape and murder case and the indictment of those seeking justice for the victims has left everyone in a shock. It is nothing but murder of justice to shield the killers. After the case was handed over to the CBI, the people and relatives of the victims were hopeful that the agency would investigate the case fairly and unmask the culprits. But the agency didn’t do anything, except for humiliating Kashmiris. Now is the time for the Chief Minister, who once said Asiya and Nelofer were like her sisters, to take necessary steps and bring the culprits to book. This will not only show the government’s seriousness towards the human rights of the people, but also restore the confidence of the people in the establishment. Any inaction in this matter will be condemnable and shocking.
