‘Sgr-Jammu highway to become 4-lane by 2015’
SHEIKH AHMED
New Delhi, Dec 8: Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways RPN Singh on Tuesday said the Srinagar-Jammu highway would be converted into the four lanes under the National Highway Development Project.
“The four laning project comprising six construction packages would be awarded to various companies by March 2010. These companies are likely to complete the project by 2015,” Singh told Lok Sabha.
He said the widening of road included provisions of tunnels to allow free flow of traffic. The minister said that proper care had been taken to make the project environment friendly.
