JKLF (R) condemns Nanaji’s re-arrest

Srinagar, Dec 8: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) senior vice-chairman, Javed Ahmad Mir has strongly condemned the re-arrest of party secretary general, Muhammad Salim Nanaji after his release from central jail on Monday.
Nanaji, who had been serving detention for the past 16 months under PSA, was released on court orders. “It is for the fourth time that police rearrested Nanaji,” Mir said, according to a Front statement, terming it as government’s revenge policy.
He said, “Nanaji is suffering from different ailments and the doctors have advised him to undergo a surgery.”
Mir has appealed to the International human rights organizations for intervention to look into human rights violations allegedly perpetuated by the troops operating in Jammu & Kashmir for past 22 years. “The pro-freedom leaders and activists are arrested on flimsy grounds and detained under false charges. They are re-arrested after being released on Court orders and again lodged in jails thereby showing scant respect for judiciary,” he said.
