Quiet diplomacy no rumour: Hurriyat (G)

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Dec 8: In what seems an unending war of words in the pro-freedom camp, Hurriyat Conference (G) Tuesday said the participation of ‘certain pro-freedom leaders’ in quiet dialogue was not a rumour floated by New Delhi but a fact accepted by the concerned quarters.
“Participation of some persons from pro-freedom camp in quiet diplomacy is not a rumour floated by New Delhi or blame levelled on such persons by Syed Ali Shah Geelani. But the persons have themselves accepted in media that they are a party to the process,” said Hurriyat (G) in a statement issued here.
The statement has come a day after United Jihad Council advised the pro-freedom camp to stop the blame-game and get united for Kashmir cause.
Hurriyat (G) said, “We have time and again maintained that we will not stop anyone from entering into dialogue but our stand on dialogue will remain unchanged. We will never participate in quiet diplomacy,” it said.
The murderous assault on senior pro-freedom leader, Fazal Haq Qureshi, it said, at this ‘crucial juncture’ was an unsuccessful attempt of miscreants to kick-back the stand of Hurriyat (G). “We have no doubt that the attack on Qureshi was done by enemy agencies but there is also a possibility that some naïve elements are involved. We condemn the attack no matter who are the perpetrators.”
It said the party’s stand on dialogue was an outcome of proper thinking focused on true representation of Kashmiris. “Our stand not only enjoys total support of the people but it is based on sheer logic and wisdom. If anyone can pin-point a single drawback in our stand we are ready to amend it.”
It said the party would not back-off from its stand fearing arrests and atrocities. “But some elements disagree with our stand and they are, therefore, opposing it.”
“We believe every individual has a right to criticize us. If someone lacks acceptability of criticism it is reflective of the loopholes in its policies,” the statement said, adding, “We have proven our stand at every level and we are getting an unexpected support from all corners of the society.”
