In times of rising prices, Magnate slashes rates for customers

RABIA NOOR

Srinagar, Dec 9: If you are craving to lay wooden flooring at your home but budget is a problem, Magnate has an offer.
At a time when the price of almost every item is increasing every passing day, Magnate Group has slashed the rates of wooden flooring.
Managing Director of the group, Muhammad Meekail, said they were gradually slashing prices on all their products.   He said they had already slashed the prices on some retail products, including both luxury items and essential commodities.
To start with, he said, they have come up with wooden flooring at reasonable prices. “I believe wooden flooring is very important here in Kashmir, but at the same time every one can’t afford it,” Meekail said.
“Here usually wooden flooring is available at around Rs 80 per square feet that very few people can afford. So, under the banner Magnate Woody Wood, we have slashed down the rates to Rs 47 and our installation charge is mere Re 1. Such prices you won’t find anywhere in India,” he claimed.
He said they were importing the product from Germany and directly selling it in the market, adding that they have initially focused on two regions, viz Kashmir and Punjab.
Meekail said within a couple of months, Magnate was going to slash prices by 40 to 60 per cent on several other products, including furniture, tiles, vegetables, milk, fruits, pulses, juices and so on, “so that everyone can afford them.”
“For instance, in furniture, a chair that costs you Rs 15,000, we will be selling in retail at mere Rs 3,000,” he said.
He said they have kept a separate staff for monitoring the products in the market that are not affordable by ordinary people, but is required by them.
He said they were coming up with some new products as well “at rates lesser than that of other companies.”
“We, for instance, are brining a new juice in the local market by March under the name ‘Juicy.’ Normally many companies are selling juice tins at Rs 25. Ours will be the same drink, but its price would be lesser by 40 per cent than that of others,” he said.
In addition to this, he said, they have recently joined hands with Luis Berger Group Inc that has introduced a new concept in paints called ‘Illusion Metallica,’ “which is yet to be launched in North India.”
“Ours is the first company to launch it in J&K in a few days,” he said, adding that it will be cheaper than wallpaper, though its strength is 200 per cent more than that of wallpaper.
