Kashmiri KCS(J) aspirants dismayed

Srinagar, Nov 11: With the Public Service Commission to hold the mains for the Kashmir Civil Service Judicial (KCSJ) exams from November 18 to December 26, the Kashmiri candidates have expressed dismay over the timings of the said exam.
A delegation of aspirants told Greater Kashmir that they would find it difficult to prepare for the judiciary exams if it were held prior to the KAS mains.
“The judicial exam was scheduled to be held in June 2009 but the Jammu candidates were not ready that time due to scorching heat. They made a representation through president Bar Association Jammu to the Chief Justice and appealed that the exams be deferred,” they said.
“On their plea the exam was postponed and now it has been scheduled from Nov 18 to December 26. In chilly winter it is difficult for us to prepare and also KAS mains are scheduled in March 2010. It is a deliberate attempt to benefit Jammu student,” they alleged.
The aspirants threatened that they would boycott the judicial exams if held in November and December. “We appeal to the chief minister and chairman Public Service Commission to intervene into the matter and do the justice with us,” they appealed.
Besides, they said the judiciary exam had vast syllabus as compared to KAS and they couldn’t devote time for both the exams at one time.
“I won’t be able to prepare well for both the prestigious exams. By bringing a clash in the exams the authorities are playing with our career,” said an aspirant saying he would have to select for appearing in either of the exams.
