Prohibitory orders in Jammu areas

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA

Jammu, Nov 12: Prohibitory orders were issued today in more areas of the city, disallowing processions and raising of slogans by groups.
The District Magistrate, M K Dwivedi, ordered that no procession shall be taken out by individuals or groups and no provocative slogans raised in the areas of Vikram Chowk and Tawi bridge, an official release said. The order will remain in force for two months or till rescinded but shall not apply to marriage or funeral processions.
Earlier on November 7, the DM had issued similar orders in areas around civil secretariat.
The authorities have imposed these restrictions in view of continued strikes by SRTC employees, official sources said.
