66000 benefit from old age scheme in JK

Jammu, Nov 13: Under Centre’s National Social Assistance  (NSA) programme, old age pension is given to 66,103 beneficiaries  at an annual expenditure of Rs 6.27 crore, a state minister said today.
 Social Welfare Minister, Sakina Itoo, said beneficiaries were  given Rs 325 each per month under NSA programme.
 There are 18,730 more applications awaiting clearance to be  covered in the current fiscal.
 Itoo said under Centrally sponsored National Family Benefit  Scheme (NFBS) Rs 10,000 is being paid to a family, in the event of  the death of its lone bread-winner.
