Varmul, Nov 14: Army on Thursday claimed that it foiled an infiltration bid in north Kashmir’s Uri sector by killing five militants.
“Troops challenged a group of militants, who had sneaked in from the other side, near Kala Pahad, Kamalkote this afternoon,” Army’s Srinagar based spokesman, Lt Col J S Brar told Greater Kashmir.
“On being challenged militants opened fire on the troops which was retaliated triggering a gunfight in which five militants were killed,” the spokesman added.
He said the encounter was on when reports last came in.
