Govt constitutes Overseas Employment Corporation

Jammu, Nov 20: The Government has sanctioned setting up of the Jammu and Kashmir State Overseas Employment Corporation with an authorized share capital of Rs one  crore. It will facilitate the state’s educated and skilled youth to seek employment within and outside the country.
 While the Chief Minister shall be the chairman of the OEC Board of Directors, the Minister for Labour and Employment would be its vice-chairman.
 The administrative secretaries of Industries and Commerce, Planning and Development, Health and Medical Education, Finance, Labour and Employment, Technical Education departments and the Director Employment (ex-officio MD) will be the Directors of the Board.
 Four eminent professionals in the field of employment and related areas of specialization to be nominated separately by the Government will also act as Directors in the Board.
 The sanction has also been granted for the nomination of the Director Employment, Jammu and Kashmir, Joint Directors Employment, and Deputy Directors Employment as Ex-Officio Managing Directors, General Managers and Managers of the Corporation respectively.
 The Government has also sanctioned creation of posts of one General Manager (Marketing) in the pay band-III with pay grade of Rs 7600, one Assistant Marketing Manager in pay band-II with grade of Rs.4800, one computer assistant in pay band-II with grade of Rs. 4,200 for the Corporation.
