Varmul, Nov 22: Saying that Co-operative Societies have revitalized the rural economy, Minister of State for Agriculture, R&B, Health and Medical Education, Javid Ahmad Dar today said that Government is making every effort to strengthen this sector for uplifting the socio-economic profile of the ruralities. The Minister was speaking at the inauguration of 19th branch of Central Co-operative Bank, Varmul at Ladoora Rafiabad today. General Manager and Deputy General Manager of Central Co-operative Bank, Varmul were present on the occasion.
Javid said that financial co-operative institutions have played a vital role for uplifting the rural economy from decades by providing financial assistance to ruralities on various economic activities with simple procedural formalities. He said these institutions would fulfill the day today needs of farmer community to introduce latest technology in farming sector and added that there is a clear cut direction from the Government to these institutions to meet the demands of this community at the earliest.
The Minister said that there is lot of scope to widen its horizons as per the latest demands in Horticulture, Agriculture, Floriculture and allied sectors to provide financial assistance to the community on low interest rates for hiring the latest gadgets to boost this sector. He said that a comprehensive policy is being formulated to make agriculture, horticulture, floriculture and allied sectors profitable.
