NC felicitates Pak

Gilgit-Baltistan polls

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Nov 22: The ruling National Conference on Sunday felicitated Pakistan for giving special status to Gilgit and Baltistan and restoring democracy in these areas.
The senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamal in statement here said the transition in Northern Areas would bring change in New Delhi’s attitude and it would also try to solve Kashmir dispute on the basis of “give and take.” However, he reiterated restoration 1953 position would provide basis for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
“Gilgit and Baltistan are parts of our state. Presently it is not certain what would be shape of united Jammu and Kashmir after the dialogue. But steps of Pakistan regarding Gilgit and Baltistan would also help in bringing change in New Delhi,” Kamal said.
He said in this scenario the political parties in Kashmir should not make restoration of 1953 position as envisaged in the autonomy document, basis of their political settlement but they should also strive for the same.
