Special drive for plant protection launched

Srinagar, Nov 22: The Department of Horticulture has improved the strategy for assisting in arranging plant protection and allied machinery under different Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
This is for the first time that the department has launched the availability of plant protection and allied machinery in such a manner that the farmer is at liberty to choose item of his choice from any distributor/dealer of the company and negotiate rates with him personally.
This drive was launched today on Sunday at Horticulture Complex Rajbagh Srinagar. The function was inaugurated by Sonali Kumar, Principal Secretary to Government Agriculture Production Department.
The officers from Horticulture department, Director Horticulture Kashmir and Director Floriculture Kashmir were also present.
Addressing the farmers, on this occasion, Sonali Kumar explained the aspects of new schemes and emphasized the growers to make the selection as per their choice. Principal Secretary said that the farmers must take full benefit of different programmes/schemes of the department.
The farmers expressed their confidence and satisfaction in this new strategy adopted by the department. They assured the Principal Secretary and the departmental officers that they will cooperate for adopting such transparent and farmer friendly programmes.
