Hurriyat (M) discusses PM’s offer
To Consult Geelani, Malik In 2 days
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Nov 2: The Executive Council of Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday discussed Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s recent talks offer.
“The executive members met at the Nigeen residence of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and discussed the offer threadbare,” Hurriyat insiders told Greater Kashmir.
They said the members of the General Council would hold deliberations with the executive members on Tuesday. “Hurriyat will react after taking everyone into confidence,” said a senior leader of the conglomerate.
He said the 2-member committee, comprising Bilal Gani Lone and Fazal-ul-Haq Qureshi, constituted to develop consensus among the pro-freedom camp to hold dialogue with News Delhi, would meet the Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in next two days.
“We are in no hurry and will respond after building consensus over the issue,” the leader said.
Sources said today’s meeting was attended by Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Aga Syed Al Safvi Al Mousvi, Aga Hassan, Fazal-ul-Haq Qureshi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and others. However, Shabir Ahmad Shah stayed away. “He couldn’t attend the meeting as he was not well,” said a source.
The members are also learnt to have discussed the developments in two recent conferences on Kashmir held in London in which Mirwaiz participated on behalf of Hurriyat (M).
