Bajaj Auto launches RE600 cargo vehicle

Srinagar, Oct 10: Auto giant, Baja Auto Ltd launched RE600 Cargo Vehicle –loading rickshaw – at a local hotel here today.
 Pushkar Singh, Regional Manager, Bajaj Auto said the company had till date introduced 36 lakh vehicles in three wheelers in the world and RE600 is a new segment in cargo industry.
 “RE600 offers best mileage of 36 km per liter of diesel in actual operating condition which is 15 to 20 percent more than other vehicles. It has a robust solid construction and comes at an attractive price which makes for the lowest cost of ownership,” said Pushkar.
 RE 600 also given the name of the Chote Ustad is available at the price of Rs 1,09,900 and is said to be fit for carrying the load of up to five quintals. “Our company is leading in the manufacturing of the load carriers in India and this vehicle can carry the load of five quintals.”
 “We consider Kashmir as the best market for this product as there are many unemployed youth in our state that can buy this vehicle at small down payment and can earn their living,” said Muhammad Hashim Ahanger, Managing Director Paris Automobiles.
 “This vehicle is specially developed for cargo movement in congested cities and towns. It has the lowest turning radius for high maneuverability even on narrow roads. The vehicle also has twin front suspension and a spacious cabin for comfortable long hours of drive,” he said.
 “RE 600 also has high torque for quick pick up even with heavy loads and has ease of frequent and quick start and stop cycles making it the best suited vehicle for in city operations,” he added.
 RE600 is a completely new category in the small commercial vehicle segment and is being launched phase wise across the country from September 2009 onwards.
 “With the launch of this vehicle we are meeting the needs of those customers who transport goods within the city and are not willing to pay high operating costs. RE 600 would not only match but exceed the needs of those customers who rely on in-city transportation as a major need for their last leg distribution to retailers and end users,” said R.C Maheshwari CEO Commercial Vehicles Bajaj Auto Ltd.
