Minister inspects wool utilization project at Bagh Ali Mardan Khan

Srinagar Oct 10: Minister for Industries and Commerce,   S.S Slathia today paid a visit to Wool Utilization Project at Baghi Ali Mardan Khan, Nowshera, Srinagar today.  The Minister went around several units of the Project having the facilities for Scouring/dying of  loose wool, finishing of woolen  tweeds, blankets and shawls  besides carding and spinning facilities  available for sample development work.
 Speaking on the occasion, the Minister while highlighting the importance of Handloom sector in   terms of its economic viability and potential for employment generation said that the sector needs to be promoted with all vigor. He said Handloom being a tradition and the availability of high quality material calls for popularizing the sector world over.  He said the handloom products have a vast market potential and the skills and traditional crafts needs to be preserved for our posterity.
 Expressing satisfaction over the working of the project, the Minister said that the latest research activities in design, printing, and dying inputs need to be taken care of for improving and increasing the end use of the fabric.
 Interacting with the employees on the occasion, the Minister assured them that their genuine demand will be looked into and sorted out on priority.
 Besides Director Handloom,  s. Chandra Gupta, Director of the project   T.F Shawl, other officers of the department accompanied the Minister during his tour.
