Sakina seeks people’s support in plan implementation

Srinagar, Oct 11: The Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo today sought people’s cooperation to supplement government efforts for bringing alround socio-economic development in the State.
Speaking at a party workers convention here today, Sakina said that government has undertaken massive development initiatives to improve the living conditions of the people especially in far-flung and hither to neglected areas adding that these measures could yield batter dividends only with the active cooperation of the people. She said people at gross roots level shall have to act as watch dogs to monitor implementation of various development and welfare schemes. This, she said, would also ensure judicious use of public money.
Sakina gave a resume of various social welfare schemes launched under Central and State sectors and said “our aim to provide adequate relief and succour to the poor, needy and destitute persons.
She also presided over a meeting of officers and took stock of pace of various development works in her constituency and directed the concerned Officers to complete all works in scheduled time.
“Officer and engineers should work in double shifts to complete works in time, in view of the limited working seasons”, Ms Sakina said adding that funds meant for development works should not get lapsed in any case.
