SDA employees thrashed for demolition

Srinagar, Oct 11: The Srinagar Development Authority officials were beaten up by the angry mob near Zampa Kadal, Chattabal when they were returning from the Doodh Ganga after demolishing the “illegal constructions”.
 Reports said four officials got injured in the incident and an FIR has also been registered in the Police Station, Safa Kadal.
 The Deputy Director, SDA, Abdul Aziz told Greater Kashmir that they were on a drive to demolish the illegal shopping vendors and vendors in front of shopping malls at Batamalo and Doodh Ganga.
 “We have already issued legal notices to them before some days. We said them whether they have been allotted the space by the SMC but they failed to produce any documents. When we were returning back some people attacked near Zampa Kadal, Chattabal. Our car was attacked and stones were also pelted. We have also took the matter before the concerned Superintendent of Police. The drive is lead under Vice-chairman, SDA, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi,” he said.
