‘Self rule de-facto Azadi’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Oct 20: The Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti, on Tuesday termed the party’s agenda of self rule as “de-facto Azadi” saying it would free people from the “sieges.”
“Self rule is not Azadi but de-facto Azadi. It is freedom to move in Jammu and Kashmir including the other side, freedom to control our own resources including water and forests, freedom to choose our own government, which nobody can dare to overthrow,” she told reporters here.
“Self rule is freedom from mental, political, economical and emotional siege. It is freedom to move on the roads, which connect Jammu and Kashmir with central Asia,” she added.
The party’s chief spokesman, Nayeem Akhter said, “Self rule is not Azadi. Constitutionally we will continue to be where we are and without challenging sovereignty of India and Pakistan, we can share it. It is a proposal, a step forward to resolve Kashmir,” Akthar said.
