Srinagar, Oct 4: Taking strong note of the complaints made by people regarding sub-standard material used for black topping of roads in Kupwara, the minister of state for tourism, Nasir Aslam Wani ordered the transfer of executive engineer, R&B Kupwara and constituted an enquiry committee under the Superintendent Engineer, to submit the report on the issue.
A joint meeting of administration, police and senior citizens of the Kupwara was held under the chairmanship of the minister to resolve the misconception between executive engineer and contractors on the black topping of town roads due to which the town observed a strike.
After discussions, it was decided to transfer the executive engineer, an official statement said adding the engineer has been attached to chief engineer’s office. The charge of executive engineer has been given to executive engineer, Varmul till further orders.
