Demolishes 'illegal' structures

Srinagar, Oct 7: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) and Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) Wednesday organized a joint sanitation drive to clean areas around the Dal lake, an official handout said.
 The SMC commissioner Tufail Ahmed in the handout said some 'illegal' structures were also demolished by the corporation in Shahr-e-Khaas.
 “On complaints received from Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, the demolition squad of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, demolished a commercial building, which was being raised in violation of the building permission issued for construction of three storeyed residential house at Seki Dafar, Safa Kadal.”
 He said “the costs involved in carrying out the demolition shall be recovered from the offender.”
