Swine flu cases rise to 31 in JK

Jammu, Sept 20: The number of persons who have tested positive to Swine Flu in the state has risen to 31.
The doctors associated with the surveillance team said four reports of swine flu cases were received from National Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi today.
“Two of them are positive,” they said.
Health Department officials said that 18 cases have tested positive for the influenza in Jammu province and 13 have been reported from Kashmir valley.
“Both of the infected armymen have been admitted to military hospital and have been put on Tami flu. Their condition is stable. All the patients who are tested positive in the state are improving after receiving treatment,” they said.
As many as 162 samples were sent to NICD New Delhi from Jammu and Kashmir, they said, adding only 31 have so far been found positive.
Dr R S Charak, who has been appointed as a nodal officer for dealing with swine flu in the state said that the government has enough stocks of medicines to treat the deadly virus.
