Srinagar, Mar 31: The mother-in-law of chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, passed away Wednesday morning after protracted illness at her Sanat Nagar residence here. She was 64.
 She is survived by her husband Dr Sibtain Masoodi, three daughters and son.
 People from all walks of life, including political leaders, lawyers, scholars, journalists, social activists, trade union leaders and businessmen participated in her Nimaz-e-Jinaza led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at Jamia Masjid, Housing Colony, Rawalpora here.
 She was buried at Rawalpora graveyard.
 Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yaseen Malik, Muhammad Abdullah Tari of Democratic Freedom Party and Hurriyat Conference (M) leaders Prof Abdul Gani Bhat, Bilal Gani Lone, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Shahid-ul-Islam, JKLF ® vice-chairman Javid Ahmad Mir were among those who participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinaza.
 The Fateh Khawani of the deceased, according to family sources, would be held on April 3, Saturday, at 10.30 am at Rawalpora.
 Meanwhile, all the scheduled meetings and other programmes of Mirwaiz, according to his spokesman advocate Shahid-ul-Islam, stand cancelled till Sunday.
 Various religious, political and social organizations have mourned the demise and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
 Hurriyat Conference (M) at a condolence meeting at its headquarters here with Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat in chair, expressed deep sorrow over the demise. Bilal Gani Lone was also present at the meeting.
 The Awami Action Committee, at a condolence meeting held at its headquarters at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal, with Prof Habibullah Jeelani in chair, expressed deep sorrow over the demise.
 The meeting offered special prayers for the deceased and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. The meeting was among attended by advocate Nazir Ahmad Ronga,  Molvi Ashraf, advocate Shahid-ul-Islam,  G N Nazki, Muhamamd Shafi Khan, Dr Sayeedur Rehaman Shamas and Sofi Mushtaq Ahmad.
 The AAC youth wing also organized a condolence meeting here with its president Sofi Mushtaq Ahmad in chair. The meeting attended by Farooq Ahmad Sodagar, Sofi Mushtaq Ahmad and Abdul Qayoom Wani. The participants offered special prayers for. 
 A Jamat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir delegation led by its Amir Sheikh Muhammad Hassan visited the Sanat Nagar residence and sympathized with the bereaved.
 Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir delegation on the instructions of its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, visited the residence of deceased and sympathized with the bereaved family. The delegation comprising Hurriyat acting general secretary Peer Saifullah, Ayaz Akbar, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ganai and Muhammad Afzal Lone, offered special prayers for the deceased.  
 National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah, general secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad and chief minister Omar Abdullah have also condoled the demise and sympathized with the bereaved family.
 Mirwaiz Hamdani has expressed deep sorrow over the demise.  
 The Employees’ Joint Action Committee (Q) president Abdul Qayoom Wani has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise and prayed for the deceased.
Chairman Sir Syed Foundation Advocate Majid Jehangir expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
