Video production workshop concludes at KU

Srinagar, Apr 10: Complementing the talent of students of the Media Education Research Centre (MERC) of Kashmir University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Riyaz Punjabi Saturday asked the students to utilize their potential in independent initiatives and look for entrepreneurship.
 The VC was speaking at the valedictory function of the 15day workshop on video production organized by Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) for the students.
 Prof Punjabi said the students of the department could easily compete with the rest of the country given the opportunity. “I am confident that the students can easily outshine even national anchors with their talent,” he said while lauding the efforts of the media students.
 Director EMMRC and Head MERC, Dr. Shahid Rasool said that for the last 3 years, collaboration between the two departments had proved to be beneficial for the media students.
 Director, Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, Dr Rafeeq Masoodi on the occasion said that the productions were something to learn from as the young minds had new ideas to share.
 He offered for holding a festival wherein the MERC student productions would be telecast on Kashir Channel of Doordarshan.
 The Workshop was Coordinated by Dr Salima Jan. Guests from outside the state including Prof Neelima Rohmitra, Director Business School Jammu University and Jotysma Roy, CEO Tara Consultants New Delhi were also present at the function.’
