DC OFFICE CUT OFF

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, Apr 12: The District Development Commissioner Srinagar, assigned the task of monitoring attendance of employees under the government’s contingency plan, became incommunicado Monday as all the telephone lines of his office complex in Tankipora area of the city were abruptly disconnected.
The heads of the field departments in Srinagar, who have to submit the attendance of their employees to the District Development Commissioner regularly since invoking of ESMA by the Government, were conveyed by the officials in the DDC’s office that no attendance could be received by fax as all the landline phones of the office are disconnected due to some technical snag.
“I called the DC office at 3.30 pm Monday to fax the attendance of my employees, but was told to deliver the same by hand as the telephone lines of the DC office were not working and as such no fax could be received,” a head of department, wishing anonymity, told Greater Kashmir.
Meanwhile, CID sleuths Monday visited almost all the offices in and around Srinagar city to check the attendance of the employees.
