Eaton Laboratories bags award

Srinagar, Apr 12: Eaton Laboratories, a JK-based pharmaceutical company, has been awarded at Pune for “its contribution to healthcare in J&K.”
The function among others was attended by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad, union minister for Power Sushil Kumar Shinde, Filmaker Gulzar, Noted Kashmiri writer Pran Kishore Kaul, Mayor Pune city, prominent personalities from business, health, art and entertainment.
The award “BRIDGING LIVES, HEALING HUMANITY” was received by Dr. Amit Wanchoo, Director Eaton Laboratories from Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Dr. Wanchoo was recently nominated as the Young Global leader at World Economic Forum, the company in a statement said.
“This is for the first time when a pharmaceutical company from the state has been given such an honour,” it said.
It said Eaton has been serving poor and needy patients within and outside state for last 25 years.
“Eaton is supporting around 3000 Kashmiri households directly or indirectly by providing employment to them,” it said.
The company was founded by Kumar Wanchoo in 1984 and at present has the honour of being one of the most reputed companies in the Small Scale Industrial sector.
Eaton has initially been awarded for its contribution in devising low cost healthcare models at LSE, SIP Singapore and Yale, USA. “This is a moment of pride for the whole Eaton family in particular and Kashmiris in general. The title of the award Bridging Lives, Healing Humanity in itself is the best definition of the work Eaton has done in past twenty five years,” it said.
