Employees Strike: Exempt hospitals, schools

When the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officers association was part of the employees Joint Consultative Committee (JCC), and I was the General Secretary of the KAS association, I would passionately request and plead in the JCC meetings that the hospitals and the educational institutions should be exempted from any strike call.
Without entering into any debate with regard to the correctness of the approach adopted by JCC leaders in the ongoing strike, I, as a citizen, would again appeal and request the employees’ leadership to exempt hospitals and the educational institutions from the strike.
In the physical and intellectual growth of any society, ‘knowledge’ and ‘healthcare’ play not only a vital role, but by all means are indispensable. Intellectual growth and physical health shouldn’t suffer and if it suffers, the whole society would suffer. Please don’t allow the society to suffer on these counts.
We are paid to serve the people and in the process if disservice is done to the public in general and the poor segment of the society in particular, every conscientious person would repent.
