Jammu: Apr 12: The Minister for animal and sheep husbandry, Aga Syed Ruhulla has lauded the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for promoting art and culture and enjoined upon it that apart from honouring dead writers and poets, it should honour living literary figures.
“The Academy, as an institution, is doing a commendable job and should be given credit for highlighting the contribution of writers and poets,” Ruhulla said, adding, “apart from remembering the dead legends, it should honour living literary personalities,” the minister said. He was speaking at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall, Budgam on the occasion of Fariq Budgami Day on Monday. Secretary Academy, Zafar Iqbal Manhas said it was Academy’s mandate to honour literary greats and his organisation had been doing so.
