3-year old dies in mishap

Srinagar, Apr 14: A three-year child was killed when a vehicle he was on board skidded into river Jhelum at Lasjan A here on Wednesday.
 Police said the deceased Shahbaz Malik son of Muhammad Akbar Malik of Friends Colony Hyderpora, was fiddling with the gear of a Gypsy (JKO2E-4102) when it suddenly skidded down the slope into the river.
 The Station House Officer, Nowgam Khursheed Ahmad said the incident occurred at 5 pm. “
 “On receiving the information we immediately launched rescue operation and managed to rescue the child. However, he breathed his last at the G.B Pant Hospital,” the SHO said. 
 However locals alleged that police arrived late at the spot. “We arranged the private crane and rescued the child. But unfortunately he died in the hospital,” locals said.
 The Medical Superintendent of GB Panth, Dr Kamili said the child was brought dead to the hospital.
