Employees return to work big achievement: Omar

Srinagar, Apr 14: Reiterating his government’s commitment to fulfill employees’ genuine demands, the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, on Wednesday said that their calling off the 12-day long strike was a big achievement.
“Employees returning to work is an achievement for us, and we are committed to work for their welfare,” Omar said while addressing a meeting of the National Conference workers and leaders at the party headquarters here.
He urged the party workers to identify the problems faced by the people and stressed the need to have direct contact with masses on the ground level. “The governments are formed to mitigate the sufferings of the people and for that we need to have proper feedback. The government runs from secretariat but it is formed due to the efforts of party workers and the ground level workers,” Omar said.
The Chief Minister said that need of the hour was to reach out to the people and work towards their welfare. “In coming days, the party will organize rallies throughout the Kashmir Valley,” he said.
Referring to inter-district recruitment bill passed recently by the Legislature, he said,
“Imposing a ban on such recruitments will help the candidates in remote areas".
