Srinagar, April 14: Various religious, social and political leaders and organizations have expressed profound grief over the demise of world famous Islamic scholar Dr Israr Ahmad, describing his demise as an irreparable loss to Muslim Ummah.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq described a great Islamic scholar, speaker par excellence and Mufassir-e-Qur’an. “Besides an Islamic scholar, Dr Israr had deep insight in modern sciences and other branches of knowledge. His message was based on pure Tawheed and Quran-u-Hadis,” he said.
Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza was offered at Budshah Chowk here in which thousands of people participated. The prayers were led by Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees president, Maulana Shawkat Ahmad Shah. Speaking on the occasion, Maulana Shah paid rich tributes to the late Dr Israr. Similar prayers were held at the Central Jail, Srinagar in which the inmates joined. The prayers were led by Dr Muhammad Qasim of Muslim Dini Mahaz.
Mirwaiz expressed solidarity with the family members of late Dr Israr and people of Pakistan. He prayed to Allah to accept his sincere services to Islam and grant him place in Janat-ul-Firdous.
Mirwaiz has announced that Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza (funeral prayers in absentia) of late Dr Israr will be offered on April 16, after Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid here.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise, the Amir Jama’at –e-Islami Jammu Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Hassan paid glowing tributes to Dr Israr’s sincere service to Islam and his efforts for Ahyayi-e-Khilafat. He prayed for the deceased and announced that Jama’at would very soon organize a special function to highlight his religious service and scholarly contribution. “Galaxy of Ulema will be invited to pay homage the late scholar,” he said.
Hurriyat Conference (G), at a condolence meeting held here today with its acting general secretary in chair, expressed deep sorrow over the demise, describing it a great loss to the Ummah. The conglomerate has appealed to the Imams of all mosques to offer Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza after Friday prayers on April 16. “The Hurriyat (G) leaders are scheduled to offer Gayibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza of the late scholar at Masjid Iqra, Sarai Bala after Friday prayers, party handout said.
The Tehreek-e-Hurriyat will organize similar congregational prayers at TRC Grounds here on Thursday at 1.45 pm, party leader, Ayaz Akbar told Greater Kashmir.
The Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat, while expressing grief over the demise, paid rich tributes to his services to Islam.
The Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Jammu and Kashmir spokesman Shabir Ahmad Zargar, in his condolence message, has said in the demise of Dr Israr, Ummah has lost a great leader and scholar. He has prayed for deceased.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, while condoling the demise, said Dr Israr had a huge contribution to Quranic studies, which made him an outstanding scholar. He said the void created by the demise was very difficult to fill for some time.
Mourning the demise, the Muslim League Jammu Kashmir has described it a great loss to whole Ummah in general and Muslims of subcontinent in particular.
The Muslim Khawateen Markaz Jammu Kashmir Yasmeena Raja has expressed deep sorrow over the demise, describing it great loss to Umah.
The United Jihad Council chairman Syed Salah-ud-Din, while paying rich tributes to Dr Israr Ahmad, described him an enviable personality. He said the void created by Dr Israr’s demise was very difficult to fill. He prayed for the deceased and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Expressing deep sorrow over the demise, Islamic Study Circle Jammu Kashmir president Sofi Ghulam Qadir has described Dr Israr’s role in moulding the life and mind of Muslims not only outstanding but also worth emulation. He prayed for the deceased and expressed solidarity with his family.
The incarcerated leader of Muslim Dini Mahaz Dr Muhammad Qasim, while expressing grief over the demise, described it great shock to Ummah.
Expressing grief over the demise, the Dukhtaran-e-Milat president Syeda Asiya Andrabi has described Dr Israr a great Islamic scholar and bold and courageous leader of Muslims who spent his whole life in the service of Islam.
The Minister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Sagar, has condoled the demise of Dr Israr Ahmad.
Describing him as a highly acclaimed religious scholar who had a keen insight on religious matters, the Minister said that his death has created a vacuum in the religious world.
