Why should they beg for their livelihood?
This refers to the monthly stipend Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA) as announced by the Government for the unemployed youths. Describing unemployment a major burning issue, Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather said the unemployed youths will get stipend from April 1 this year as it will be Rs. 550 for 10+2 unemployed youth, Rs.900 for a graduate. However, Mr Rather said the present coalition government has formulated such comprehensive developmental programmes under which all the areas of the state would get equal share of progress and prosperity. Thousands of youth below 28 year age group have no other means than to look for other alternatives now because government is just vandalising their future. This is injustice to those who are below the age group of 28 years. Why government is not pondering over their rights, what are they supposed to do? What are the other alternatives for those youths lying
below 28years of age as they were eagerly waiting for the stipends but the constraints are such that they have to bear this injustice from the government. I urge government to reconsider its stand over the age-group so that the meritorious students don't have to bow again for their livelihood.
