6 killed, 8 hurt in JK mishaps

Jammu, Apr 16: Six persons were killed and eight others wounded in separate mishaps across the Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said a Tractor (JK05A-1469), hit and injured a boy Javid Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat of Uboora near Tarhama Village. He succumbed on way to hospital, police said.
In another accident, it said a tipper hit a motor cycle at Nowgam Bye-pass, killing Eijaz Wani son of Ghulam Rasool on the spot. The pillion Suhail Ahmad Najar was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Iqbal Malla son of Ali Muhammad Malla of Anchar Soura died when a poplar he was cutting fell on him, it said.
In other incidents, police said a car (JK01G-0630) hit and injured a child Adnan Khursheed son of Khursheed Ahmad Bhat near Pahloo Kulgam.
A Tata Sumo (JK03-2390) hit and injured a boy Suhail Ahmad Kumar son of Ahmad-ullah Kumar of Kralpora Nunwani near Gopalpora Islamabad.
A motorcyclist Showkat Ahmad Hajam son of Muhammad Sultan of Magaray Pora hit and injured a cyclist Arif Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Sheilpora Achabal.
Meanwhile, a man was killed and another critically wounded when a tipper (JK14A-5616) on way from Batote to Doda skidded off the road and rolled down at Raghi Nallah of district Doda early this morning.
In another mishap, a woman was killed while three others injured when a car (JK14B-4169) on way from Patnitop towards Udhampur skidded off the road and rolled down at Kud Udhampur this evening.
A boy was crushed when he was hit by a speeding truck (JK13A-7357) at Samba.
