Woman intercepts CM’s motorcade
SYED AMJAD SHAH
Jammu, Apr 16: A migrant woman Friday evening broke the security cordon and intercepted the motorcade of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the civil secretariat here.
Eyewitnesses said a woman suddenly came in front of Omar’s motorcade in the secretariat premises when the CM was leaving for his official residence after day’s work.
The security personnel immediately swung into action and tried to take her away. “However, the Chief Minister directed his personal staff to enquire about the problem faced by the woman which forced her to intercept the motorcade,” sources told Greater Kashmir.
Identified as Shabnum wife of Shafqat Mohi-ud-Din of village Kadoora Kulgam, at present Jammu, the lady was taken to the official residence of the Chief Minister.
Sources said that the woman narrated her woes to the personal staff of CM and said that she along with her family was living in Jammu from the last two years and was running from pillar to post to get relief under migrant quota.
“My husband is a surrendered militant and we were forced to leave our home due to the security reasons,” the woman said adding, “However, despite hectic efforts the authorities have not registered my family as migrant.”
The woman was sent back home with the assurance that her grievance will be addressed.
